Þriðja árlega Beyond budgeting Iceland ráðstefnan verður haldin á Hótel Hilton Nordica 1. mars 2017.

Að venju verður áhersla lögð á fyrirlestra um fyrirtæki sem eru rekin í samræmi við Beyond budgeting hugmyndafræðina í bland við tengt efni.

The third annual Beyond budgeting Iceland conference will be held in Reykjavík on March 1st 2017.

As before the focus will be on actual Beyond budgeting implementation cases in addition to related topics like Lean accounting and Lean human resource management.

Vinsælt námskeið sem sló í gegn þegar Jean hélt það í Reykjavík hausið 2015. Lean verkefni eiga í hættu að misheppnast vegna misvísandi upplýsinga í fjárhagsupplýsingum fyrirtækja. Þau geta jafnvel litið út fyrir að auka kostnað þegar raunin er önnur og því mjög mikilvægt að stjórnendur fái fjárhagsupplýsingar í samræmi við þau hugtök sem lean aðferðir leggja áherslu á. Þetta mun Jean sýna með einföldum og praktískum dæmum.

The speakers

Dr. Steve Morlidge

Steve is an accountant by background and has 25 years of practical experience in senior operational roles in Unilever, designing, and running performance management systems. He also spent 3 years leading a global change project in Unilever. He is a former Chairman of the European Beyond Budgeting Round Table and now works as an independent consultant for a range of major companies, specializing in helping companies break out of traditional, top down ‘command and control’ management practice. Steve is a Visiting Fellow with the Centre for Business Performance at Cranfield School of Management .

Steve is the co-author of‘Future Ready: How to Master Business Forecasting (John Wiley, 2010), and has a PhD in Organisational Cybernetics at Hull Business School. He is also a co-founder of CatchBull, a supplier of forecasting performance management software.

Steve recently published The Little Book of Beyond Budgeting. A New Operating System for Organisations: What it is and Why it Works (Troubador, 2017).

He is regularly engaged as a public speaker, drawing on his years of experience at the leading edge of performance management thought and practice.

Jerry Solomon

Jerry has held the CFO & VP of Operations positions at a number of companies. He led Lean transformations achieving dramatic improvements in inventory turns, lead-times, customer service, income and cash flow.

He has authored 3 Lean books, two of which won the prestigious Shingo Award: Who’s Counting? and Accounting for World Class Operations as well as Leading Lean.

He was the Maryland Lean Leader of the Year in 2013.  He is a founding thought leader in Lean Accounting and has been teaching and practicing Lean Accounting for three decades. Jerry was a long time board member of the Maryland World Class Consortia, is an AME Examiner, a Shingo Prize Research Examiner and a frequent speaker at conferences.

Mike DeLuca

Mike works with companies to improve their financial management processes and develop the teams that support them. He applies Lean and Beyond Budgeting principles to evolve the budget into a more valuable and efficient tool, make better use of the latent talent in finance teams, and help analytical and office functions focus more effectively on work that makes a difference.

He is an experienced finance executive with a passion for bringing people and financial data together to improve organizational results. He´s the numbers guy that gets excited about translating complex financial analyses to leaders so they can make better business decisions. For over 15 years he has used data and analysis to tell the story to executives, allowing them to achieve better results.

Mike was one of the lead implementers of Beyond Budgeting at Group Health Cooperative, a nonprofit health care system that coordinates care and coverage in Seattle, Washington.

Mike is the Principal owner of Torre Consulting and a Principal Member of the Athena Group. He is also serving as BBRT North America´s Healtcare director and holds a MS in Finance from Seattle University.

Jean Cunningham

Jean is widely recognized as a pioneer of Lean Business Management having led her companies and client companies through the lean transition into non-production functions since the early 90’s. She has consulted and given lectures on applying Lean Business Management for over twenty years. Since 2006 with JCC, Jean travels to clients throughout the U. S. consulting on lean strategy and organization, and facilitating kaizens and other lean-based events. She keynotes and presents workshops at lean conferences worldwide.

During fifteen years, Jean was the Vice President and CFO first at Lantech, Inc. and later at Marshfield Door Systems. From 2006-11, she was the CFO and a Director-at-Large for the Association for Manufacturing Excellence. Jean is an original Thought Leader for the Lean Accounting Summit and the Lean HR Summit and presents at both annually. She teaches Lean Accounting for The Ohio State University Master of Business Operational Excellence program. Jean is also a board member of the non-profit Lean Education Advancement Foundation.

Jean is the co-author of the acclaimed book, Real Numbers, an essential text for transitioning to Lean Accounting.  She is also co-author of Easier, Simpler, Faster, a book on applying lean principles to information technology processes and optimizing output information for the lean workplace.  Both books were awarded the Shingo Prize for Research (2004, 2008). She also is one of ten authors who contributed to Lean Accounting, a collection of works by lean experts.

Jean has a BS in Accounting from Indiana University and an MBA from Northeastern University’s Executive Program.

Henrik Heller Esberg

As CFO at Uno-X, Henrik designed together with CEO Michael Norden, significant changes to the organizations management model to achieve a lean and highly effective organisation. The starting point was based on a strong business philosophy and a unique customer-centric foucs. In addition they focused on reducing complexity through a clear and focused business model. This combined with the agility of self-managed teams should lead them to the most effective organization (BBRT case report, 2014).

Henrik is the CFO at YX Danmark A/S, previous Uno-X, and holds an Executive MBA from AVT Business school, a Cand.merc.aud and a graduate diploma in business administration from from Copenhagen Business School.

He was selected by Berlingske Business as one of Denmark´s 100 new talents in 2014.

Ingvar Stefánsson

Ingvar is a seasoned executive with a background in strategic planning, corporate finance and HR. Prior to his role as CFO at Reykjavík Energy he was Managing director for the asset based finance at Islandsbanki, one of three largest banks in Iceland. Prior to that he was the HR manager and VP of corporate sales at Esso in Iceland. Ingvar holds a Masters Degree in Finance and Management.

When Ingvar took over as CFO at Reykjavík Energy in 2011 he helped steer the organization through demanding times following the banking crash in 2008. By the start of 2011 the Board of directors implemented an extensive restructuring plan called „The Plan“ which focused among other things on creating a cost conscious culture. In his presentation Ingvar will present the results of the restructuring plan and how it relates to Beyond budgeting.

Beyond Budgeting Institute

Beyond Budgeting Round Table (BBRT) er samstarfsvettvangur fyrirtækja, stofnana, háskóla og einstaklinga sem vinna að útbreiðslu og þróun Beyond budgeting hugmyndafræðarinnar. Aðilar að samtökunum læra af öðrum skipulagsheildum sem hafa innleitt hugmyndafræðina á ráðstefnum og vinnufundum sem haldnir eru víðsvegar um heiminn.

Beyond Budgeting Institute er stofnun sem heldur utan um fundi BBRT ásamt því að vinna að þróun aðferðafræðinnar með samstarfi við sérfræðinga á hennar vegum. Manino er samstarfsaðili Beyond Budgeting Institute og eru ráðstefnurnar á Íslandi haldnar í samstarfi við stofnunina.

Axel Guðni Úlfarsson

Axel Guðni Úlfarsson er viðskiptafræðingur og starfar sem sérfræðingur á Fjármálasviði Össur hf. þar sem hann vinnur við fjárhagsspá félagsins, stjórnendaupplýsingar og önnur tengd verkefni. Axel hefur leitt innleiðinguna á Beyond Budgeting hjá Össuri frá árinu 2009 og hefur talsverða reynslu af notkun módelsins hjá fyrirtækinu. Ásamt starfi sínu hjá Össuri hefur Axel kennt námskeið í Beyond Budgeting í samstarfi við Opna Háskólann í Háskólanum í Reykjavík frá árinu 2013.

Pétur Arason

Pétur Arason er rekstrarverkfræðingur og er Chief Challenger of Status Quo @ Manino. Pétur hefur leitt stefnumótun, stýrt stórum breytingaverkefnum og innleitt lean aðferðir í meira en 15 ár bæði hér heima og erlendis.
Pétur hefur í nokkur ár kennt lean við Háskólann í Reykjavík bæði lengri vottuð lean námskeið fyrir sérfræðinga og styttri lean námskeið fyrir stjórnendur.
